Popular professional caster and ex-player Henry “HenryG” Greer announced his retirement from professional casting as of the 4th of September, as he disclosed in an in-deph interview with DeKay. Across his casting career, HenryG worked on 150 events, 10 of which were Majors. In his interview he also hinted about his future, to be announced on Monday, the 7th of September, stating:
As for clues, all I will say is this – this will be the most ambitious challenge I have ever undertaken in my life. I couldn’t be more excited to show the world what I have been working on behind closed doors. I have the right crew around me and we’re making fantastic progress.
The horizon of a new dawn is upon us.– HenryG
Yesterday, at 8 PM, he was announced as the new General Manager of CS:GO at Cloud9, with the following statement on Twitter:
With his signing, Cloud9 are looking to transfer their current roster to another organisation, and are going to build a new lineup from the ground up. As his first official signing, HenryG has signed former Renegades and 100 Thieves-coach Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović to spearhead the new lineup.
Cloud9 are seemingly looking to build their new roster in Europe, leaving North America behind them. Several players have been rumoured to be in talks with Cloud9, such as ALEX, smooya, Jerry and woxic, though nothing official has been said. In the vast pool of European talent, however, anyone could realistically be joining the team considering the size of the Cloud9 organisation.
The current North American lineup headlined by Ricky “floppy” Kemery is slated to finish ESL Pro League Season 12, while Cloud9 are looking for a new organisation to acquire the roster.
