Call of Duty has seen some talented players over its 12+ years as an esport. Some players have managed to establish an undeniable legacy while others have fallen into obscurity. Here is our top 10 list for the greatest Call of Duty Players of all time.
10. Johnathon “John” Perez
John has been competing since 2011 and in that time he has managed to win 8 Major titles, including winning the Call of Duty World Championship in 2016. He has proven time and time again that he is one of the most talented sub machine gun players of all time. It surprised many when he did not make it on a CDL Team at the start of last year. However, many expect John to make a return on the next Call of Duty title and get back to proving why he is one of the most feared players in the world.
9. Bryan “Apathy” Zhelyazkov
Apathy is undeniably one of the greatest talents Call of Duty has ever seen. He has been competing since 2011 and currently plays for the Seattle Surge in the CDL. Over his 9-year career he has racked up 7 Major title victories, including 2 World Championships. He is known for his incredible form when it comes to the World Championship, having made the final 3 times at the event. He still continues to prove that he is one of the top sub machine gun players in the world and could continue to add to his trophy cabinet.
8. Tyler “Teepee” Polchow
TeePee is a legendary name in the Call of Duty community. Competing from 2010-2016 TeePee managed to rack up 16 Major title victories including 1 World Championship as well as being a part of one of Call of Duty’s dynasty rosters. Competing for the dominant Complexity line up is where he won most of his titles. On top of this the line up completed one of the most dominant runs seen at the World Championships in 2014, not losing a single match on the way to winning the event. It was with Complexity that TeePee established his legacy as one of the best players to ever touch Call of Duty.
7. Jordan “JKap” Kaplan
JKap is one of the most successful players of all time. He has 10 Major titles over his 10-year career. This includes 2 World Championships in 2015 and 2016 making him one of only two players to ever win the event in back to back fashion. He also has the highest average placing at the World Championships of any player, having made the final 4 times out of the 7 events held. He is also the only player to have ever made it to 3 consecutive World Finals in a row. JKap is a household name in Call of Duty and continues to feature at the highest level, where he is currently signed to Optic Gaming LA.
6. Patrick “ACHES” Price
Aches is one of the top talents Call of Duty has ever seen. The duo partner of TeePee, the two of them participated together on the legendary Complexity roster. As a result, he has managed to achieve an impressive 17 Major titles, including 2 World Championships. As well as proving that he is a top talent in Call of Duty, he has also established himself as the villain of the esport. Regularly been nicknamed the “Optic Killer” for always finding a way to defeat the fan favourite organisation, especially at the World Championships. Love him or hate him Aches has cemented himself as a Call of Duty legend.
5. Matthew “FormaL” Piper
FormaL made the switch to Call of Duty Ghosts from Halo and from there went on to become one of the most dominant assault rifle players of all time. Having picked up 23 event wins, including a World Championship and an X-Games Gold Medal. On top of all these event wins he was part of the legendary Optic Gaming dynasty that dominated Call of Duty from Advanced Warfare until World War 2. FormaL was also the first player to ever win a Major title in both Halo and Call of Duty. Continuing to add to his event wins in the CDL, FormaL does not seem to be slowing down in furthering his legacy as one of esports greatest players.
4. James “Clayster” Eubanks
Clayster is the oldest player in the CDL at 28 years old and one of the only to have been competing since Call of Duty 4. Over his 12-years competing professionally he has won 17 Major titles. This includes his 2 World Championships, as well as an X-Games Gold Medal. Having competed for over a decade Clayster has found himself on many rosters, including the start of the Complexity dynasty winning many events with the roster. He continues to add to his legacy with the Dallas Empire and has showed zero signs that he plans on retiring any time soon.
3. Seth “Scump” Abner
Scump is known by many as the “King of Call of Duty“ and he certainly has proven that this is true. The second most Major titles out of any player with 29 he has earned his title as the King. These titles include a World Championship as well as 2 X-Games Gold Medals. Scump continues to prove every year that he is one of the top 5 sub machine gun players in the world and has not slowed down with age, winning a title in every single Call of Duty since Black Ops 2 except for World War 2. On top of this he was a major part of the Optic Dynasty helping them to many event wins with his performances. He has found himself on yet another top roster with the Chicago Huntsmen and is continuing to add titles to his already impressive resume.
2. Damon “Karma” Barlow
Karma recently retired after a long and successful career. Between 2010-2020 he managed 24 Major Victories. This includes being the only player to win 3 World Championships. He is also the only player to have played on all 3 of dynasty rosters. He has proven over his 10-year career his versatility, going from one of the best slayers in the world to a support player, never caring about his own statistics so long as the team was winning. As a result, he has proven that he is one of the greatest of all time and to many is the GOAT of Call of Duty.
1. Ian “Crimsix” Porter
Only one player in the history of Call of Duty could stop Karma from being the greatest of all time. That is Crimsix. With 34 Major title over his 8 year career, not one has won more. These Major titles include 2 World Championships and an X-Games Gold Medal making his victories even more impressive. He was also a part of both the Complexity and Optic Gaming dynasty rosters. Crimsix continues to add to his titles, winning 2 already in the Modern Warfare season. He is the true GOAT of Call of Duty having been at the top of the game for 8-years now, showing no signs of slowing down and letting others catch up with his record number of wins.
